Renovation works advance in Slovenia
Over the past months, the Slovenian demo site has been busy with final touches and the installation of technologies to make the building energy efficient.
This demo brings together two important ideas: retrofitting existing buildings and densifying urban areas. This is due to the fact that a prefabricated floor with new apartments has been added on top of the building. After the demo is complete, we will start with the economic evaluation of this innovative approach.
Among the ongoing activities, the commissioning the Vortice ventilation machines, which are pre-installed in the prefabricated façades, has started. This step involves pressurising each ventilation pipe to make sure there are no leaks. The tests check that every joint, whether hidden inside the façade or ceiling, is sealed tight. Once this is done, one can be confident that the ventilation system is airtight and ready to go.
The next steps involve connecting the heat pump and testing the full system to make sure it all works together seamlessly. On the outside, the BIPV panels are on the way and will be soon installed.
