From Small-Scale Demo to Market Readiness
The second Offsite Renovation Academy took place on 3 February 2026 in Paris, hosted at Bouygues Construction’s premises, and brought together professionals from across the renovation value chain for an immersive day dedicated to offsite renovation innovation. The Academy combined presentations, site visits, and interactive sessions to show concrete solutions already transforming renovation practice.
A key highlight was the visit to the French pilot site managed by Bouygues Construction.
Participants observed the prototype façade integrating building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) developed within INFINITE and manufactured by Sunage.
Although the installation covers a limited surface area, its relevance extends far beyond its size. The demo is directly linked to an ongoing ATEx certification process, with certification expected in April 2026.
The site visit also included the presentation of Scale One, a hybrid space between a construction site and a laboratory, dedicated to testing and refining innovative construction methods before large-scale deployment. Scale One is expected to reopen after works in mid-2026.
The day included also presentations presenting feedback from two real-life demonstration in Italy and Slovenia, and a session focused on scaling up and replication, with Energiesprong France presenting lessons learned from applying the Energiesprong model to accelerate deep renovation at scale.
This was followed by a broader discussion on how to accelerate the adoption of innovation, underlining the need for new cooperation models between industry, designers, researchers, and public authorities, as well as the role of R&D and testing environments in reducing risks before full-scale construction.
In the end, an interactive session allowed participants to exchange directly on technical, regulatory, and organisational challenges: the Academy is thought as as a space for shared learning and collective progress.
Thanks to Ressorts, Energiesprong France, Bouygues Construction, EDERA, and Eurac Research for the organisation of this event.
