Energiesprong Renovation Days and INFINITE

The second edition of the Energiesprong Renovation Days was a blast, and we couldn’t have imagined anything else!

On November 13 and 14 over 300 participants, including cooperatives, retrofit companies, architects, designers, and investors gathered in Milano to explore innovation in building renovation, in the event organised by INFINITE partner EDERA.

This was setting where we presented INFINITE solutions for industrialised deep retrofit.

• Diego Tamburrini (Eurac Research) presented the INFINITE project and all-in-one prefabricated kits being developed.
• Gabriele Zini (architect and collaborator of Fanti Legnami) introduced the prefabricated façades being designed for the Italian demo case.
• Marco Barone and Lorenzo Panerai (Casa Spa) discussed the interest of public administration and social housing managers in industrialised deep retrofit and the challenges to its adoption.

The workshop discussions highlighted the importance of industrialised solutions for cost efficiency and sustainability, especially after the end of super incentives.

For sure one of the most interesting part of the event was visiting innovative retrofit sites, such as an eight-storey building renovated without scaffolding to minimise disruption for residents.

This project balanced energy efficiency and community needs, including photovoltaic panels and an urban rooftop garden. Being able to hear directly from residents how their renovations went was a pleasant surprise

This direction is the way we go with INFINITE: with prefabrication and integration, we aim to make renovation more efficient and attentive to people’s needs.
