Trend paper “Renovating the building envelope – Quo vadis?”

The European Construction Sector Observatory recently published a paper on the policies and initiatives fostering the adoption of building envelopes solutions

The construction sector plays a key role in Europe’s green and digital transition. According to a recent study, the renovation of the building envelope is one of the most important ways to reduce thermal losses and CO2 emissions. However, the uptake of deep renovation technologies and methodologies has been relatively slow in the past years.

What policies and initiatives can foster the implementation of innovative solutions to renovate building envelopes? The trend paper “Renovating the building envelope – Quo Vadis” by the European Construction Sector Observatory provides insights into the drivers, opportunities and challenges for the adoption of innovative solutions, such as prefabricated elements, renewable energy systems and green envelopes.
